Race Details

ALL RACES START AND FINISH AT PLYMOUTH ROCK
​START TIME:  9:00 AM

All 3 races will begin and end at Plymouth Rock/DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park on Water Street. 

 

SHIRTS

The shirt deadline is the end of the day on Sunday, August 20th.  Please be sure to register before the deadline if you would like to receive a race shirt. 

ON COURSE HYDRATION
Hydration stops will be located as follows:

  • Mile 2 - Water

  • Mile 4 - Water

  • Mile 5.3 - Water

  • Mile 7 - Water & Gatorade

  • Mile 9 - Water

  • Mile 11 - Water & Gatorade


Water and snacks will be available at the finish line

RESTROOMS
Bathrooms are located at the start and finish line as well as at mile 5

 

​NUMBER PICKUP

  • Friday, September 8th from 2pm - 7pm at Marathon Sports, 9 Court Street, Plymouth

  • Saturday, September 9th beginning at 8:00am at DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park, 79 Water Street, Plymouth

    • Yes, you may pick up bibs for friends and/or family members.

    • Please bring your race confirmation with you to pick up your bib

   

COURSE TIME LIMIT

1/2 Marathon Participants:  The course will officially be open until 12:00 pm, 3 hours after the race starts.  Anyone finishing before 12:00 will receive an official finish time.  If you expect to finish in more than 3 hours you are welcome to join us but there will be limited services on the course and at the finish line.

Bag check will be available at the starting line.

 

AWARDS
Overall top 3 male and female in each distance receive a custom award and a gift card to Marathon Sports
5K/10K Age Group Awards:  Top 3 male and female in each age group receive a trophy
​        Age groups:  10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

1/2 Marathon Age Group Awards:  Top 3 male and female in each age group receive a trophy       

       Age groups:  13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

 

Awards will be distributed at the conclusion of each race as soon as results are available.  

  • 5K at 10:00am, 10K at 10:30am, 1/2 Marathon at 11:30am (times are approximate)​

Please be sure to collect your award on race day as we are unable to mail them.  You may have someone collect your award for you.

PARKING
Parking is available in the area of Plymouth Rock (79 Water Street on your GPS will get you there). Please refer to the Park Plymouth website for detailed parking information in downtown Plymouth http://www.parkplymouth.com. ​ Please do not park in any location that is not public parking for the race (ie: restaurants, etc).   

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • No dogs are allowed on the race course.  If you need to participate with a trained service animal please send an email at least 3 days before the race to southshorerace@gmail.com.

  • Registration fees are non-refundable and we are not able to defer to the following year or transfer the registration to another race.  You can, however, transfer your bib to another runner.

  • All finishers will receive a Run to the Rock finishers medal

If you have an hour or two or more and would like to come help us out, please sign up here.  This is a great way for students, NHS, Scouts, confirmation classes as well as team building, promote your business or support the runners.  If you don't have a volunteer requirement to fill you can select a FREE future race (options will be provided).

All races start and finish at Plymouth Rock

GPS to:  79 Water Street, Plymouth

From the North:

  • Route 3 South to Exit 15A (old exit 6A)

  • Right off exit onto Samoset Street/Route 44 East

  • Straight through 2 sets of lights to rotary

  • First right out of rotary to go Water Street south

  • Plymouth Rock is less than 1/2 mile from the rotary.

From the South:

  • Route 3 North to Exit 15 (old exit 6)

  • Right off exit to Route 44E/Samoset Street

  • Straight through 2 sets of lights to rotary

  • First right out of rotary to go Water Street south

From the West:

  • Route 44 East to Route 3 South
